                  THE LONDON 2012 OLYMPICS

On 27th  July, 10.000 athletes will come to London for the Olympics! The British Olympic team are hard, and the athletes  prepare the games.  

THE MASCOTS   

The mascots of London Olympics, are Wenlock and Mandeville. Their names come from British towns.

THE OLYMPIC TORCH

The Olympic  Torch will travel 12,800km, 8.000 people carry the torch.

THE OLYMPIC STADIUM

The Olympic  stadium is in East London. There are trees, parks, new shops and houses. In next to the River Thames.

26 SPORTS

At the first Olympics, in 1896, there were 7 events, and now are 26 different sports. The new sport is goal ball, but in this sport are blinds.

                          CHRIS ADCOCK BADMINTON

Chris Adcock, is 23 years old. He has got a lots of hopes to be the first British badminton player to win gold.  He´s a professional footballer, but he chose badminton.

               JAMIE COOK MODERN PENTATHLON

Jamie Cook is 20 years old, and he has five events: pistol, shooting, fencing, swimming,  running and horse riding.

                             SHANAZE READE

Shanaze Reade, is 23 years old. She been racing since when
she was 10. She is BMX riding, but she didn´t get a medal.

                                TOM DALEY DIVING

Tom Daley is 18 years old, is a British. He is one of Britain´s best hopes, and he has got a medal.

SHORTBREAD BY JULEN SUAREZ

INGREDIENTS:

225g butter

110g sugar

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1-First beat the butter. Slowly add the sugar and beat.

2-Next add the almond extract flour and salt.

3-Later put in the refrigerate two hours.

4-After that put the mixture into a greased baking tray. Prick the surface with a fork. Cut into small rectangles.

5-Finally bake at 150º C for 30 minutes.

He likes sleeping all day. He was born on 19th June 1978. He´s much clever than humans and other animals. He loves eating and he adores lasagna because is his favourite food. 

He hates Monday´s, spiders and diets. He´s a very popular cat. People read about his over 2.600 news paper all round the world, 263 millions people read about Garfield. 

He´s a TV and film star. He has a TV series and in 2004 and 2006 he started in two films.
